Intellectual Ventures Labs (IV), the invention development arm of Nathan Myhrvold’s invention capital organization occupied 50,000 SF spread over five different buildings in Bellevue’s Spring District. SABA was tasked with finding a building that could be expanded to 90,000 SF in a very tight real estate market. We designed a space capable of housing biological labs, clean rooms, lasers, a machine shop, a cooking test kitchen, an insectary, as well as all the elements of a typical office. The space also allows for maximum cross pollination between disciplines while still providing enough quiet space for those who need it.
